(best read out loud while slightly tipsy at a small poetry reading at some poorly attended reading at a cafe in seattle)
Seattle Skyline SCREAMS
like i do
sometimes
over you
and i CRASH down like
bad poet waves
on misunderstood audience shores
and nobody
gets wet
so i slide down
slow
under this city's stars
and i'm hit
with some smooth sexy
hallucinatory
blood stream flow like some
sssssssssscrazy patti smith flashback like some
lenny kaye guitar string
injection
like some morphine addiction
bruce wayne obsession
but
i'm not
the batman

That poem is pretty awesome! Its funny, I like Jim Carroll's music and his prose- but I don't really like his poetry at all. I read a lot of poetry- Ted Kooser, Mary Oliver, Hafiz, even Billy Collins(sometimes). Cool that you like The P5! I definitely think they deserve more attention, they are practically forgotten. Keep in touch.
just seen your comment on it came from the pit comp, did you manage to download it after?it may still have the password i put on things if so type in 1969,let me know if that helped
